The Political Party Database Project is a multi-country collaborative effort to advance the study of party-based representative democracy. The project currently covers more than 50 parliamentary and presidential democracies and nearly 300 political parties worldwide.

An R package implementing the Diversity of Representation Index (DORI), a multidimensional measure of diversity in representative institutions. The package computes balanced and weighted versions of DORI and can be applied to studies of gender, race, ethnicity, and other dimensions of political representation.
